IMPORTANT for students wishing to be exempted from courses in the Yalova University Psychology Undergraduate Program based on courses previously taken at another higher education institution!
According to the “Senate Principles on Course Equivalency and Adaptation Procedures at Yalova University” (see Annex 1), students who wish to be exempted from previously completed courses must submit their request to the relevant department within the first week of the semester in which they enroll. If declared within their first year of registration, the student may be exempted from the relevant courses upon evaluation by the exemption committee. Therefore, exemption requests must be submitted by 5 October 2023 to be processed.
The petition must include the following attachments for the courses for which exemption is requested:

Previous Curriculum (Theory-Practice-Laboratory-Credit / T-P-L-C)

Course Content (objectives, scope, and weekly course plan)

Transcript

Exemption Form (see Annex 2; must be in editable Word format)
All documents listed above (except the Exemption Form) must be approved and signed by the relevant Faculty/Institute/School or Student Affairs Office, stamped, sealed, and barcoded.
The exemption committee will evaluate whether the courses indicated by the student are equivalent. Therefore, students are expected to clearly indicate in Annex 2 which previous courses they want to be credited for which current courses. For equivalency to be accepted, course content must match at least 80%, as per the regulations. Students are advised to carefully review their previous course plans and contents and declare courses they consider similar when applying.
All required documents must be submitted with wet signatures to the faculty student affairs officer and emailed to Asst. Prof. Zehra Ertuğrul Yaşar at zehra.yasar@yalova.edu.tr
