Waste Management Trainings on Zero Waste, Chemical Waste, and Electronic-Battery Waste were organized by Research Assistant Emine Uysal for first-year students. The trainings provided basic information on the distinction between garbage and waste, the classification of waste, and recycling processes.
Participants were given examples of the environmental impacts of different types of waste encountered in daily life, and the importance of proper waste separation for a sustainable future was emphasized. In addition, the safe disposal of chemical waste and the necessity of separately collecting electronic waste and batteries were addressed in detail, along with the practices to be followed in this regard.
Through these trainings, students’ environmental awareness was strengthened, aiming to encourage them to act as more responsible and conscientious individuals both in their academic lives and in their daily routines.
