Sustainability Training Provided to Psychology Students

Sustainability training sessions were conducted for first-year students joining the Psychology Department at Yalova University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Led by the department’s Sustainability Coordinator, Research Assistant Emine Uysal, the training aimed to raise student awareness regarding environmental sustainability and to provide information on the sustainability practices implemented at the university.

The sessions covered topics such as zero-waste practices; the proper management of chemical, battery, electronic, and fluorescent waste; and water management—specifically sustainable water management. Emphasis was placed on the importance of the conscious and efficient use of natural resources, alongside the correct sorting and disposal of waste.

Designed to foster sustainability awareness among new students from the very beginning of their university lives, the training concluded with information aimed at developing environmental responsibility and sustainable lifestyle habits.
